You can’t go anywhere without hearing about Amazon.
Jeff Bezos, founder of Amazon.com, was named WholeFoods Magazine’s 2017 Person of the Year because of the impact the company and its culture are making on the natural products industry with the $13.7 billion acquisition of Whole Foods Market.
Each year WholeFoods Magazine, published by WFC, Inc., recognizes the individual who’s done something with significant impact. In its December cover story, the magazine focuses on the duality of the effect Amazon buying Austin, TX-based Whole Foods Market is having on everyone else in the ecosystem – from manufacturers to distributors to independent retailers.
“You can’t go anywhere without hearing about Amazon,” says Heather Wainer, publisher of the family-owned WholeFoods Magazine, which informs and educates natural product retailers on dietary supplements, herbs, HABA, homeopathy and foods. It is not affiliated with Whole Foods Market.
The story examines the Bezos Effect and how Amazon’s style, a reflection of its founder, is penetrating the entire supermarket industry. Read the article at wholefoodsmagazine.com
