Trae Tha Truth Sticks to the Code of the Streets, even when he’s animated

Trae Tha Truth ft. Jay’Ton – Spray (Video)

Houston emcee Trae Tha Truth releases his new official animated music video for Spray featuring Jay’Ton. Read more about this release below.

“When it come to the streets, every n*gga gotta see me/ Everything I do a movie, shoulda been on TV,”Trae Tha Truth raps in the closing verse of “Spray.” With a melodic chorus that complements the mischievous production, Trae and his Assholes By Nature label mate Jay’Ton abide by the code of the streets while delivering doses of realism in the form of three verses, maneuvering from the stoop to the streets with his iced grill illuminating alleyways as smoke swirls around the Texas Rap God.

“The video finds the Texas emcees adorned in all black as they melodically mourn for all those who would dare test them,” says Mass Appeal in their premiere post. “Trae spits in his trademark gravelly delivery, half reminding himself that his stature in Screwston breeds envy.” Directed by cartoonist Jay Sugarman, the animated video for Trae Tha Truth’s “Spray” aligns with the look of their TRAE cartoon series. Currently in its third season and airing via Fuse TV’s Explicit Language, recent episodes feature cameos from rappers Paul Wall and Snoop Dogg as well as comedian Lil Duval.
