PS4 Games to Watch Out for This January 2016

Lego Marvel’s Avengers

Lego Marvel’s Avengers is going to be the one of the most anticipated releases come January 2016. Every bit as exciting as Marvel’s Avengers but with a huge dose of Lego humor, this installment is very much anticipated by fans. Lego Marvel’s Avengers is the second installment after the Lego Marvel franchise.

There are over 200 playable characters in the game with characters pulled out from both the movie and the actual comics. Every two characters have their own unique team-up moves. That’s 800 team-up moves in total! This video game is set in Manhattan and will follow plots from the following Avengers movies: The Avengers, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain America: The First Avenger, Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

The graphics have vastly improved and levels now have different locations like Thor’s home world (Asgard) for example. There is a seemingly unlimited amount of missions to play and characters to unlock. With all that Lego Marvel’s Avengers has to offer, we don’t think you’ll even need another game for the whole of 2016.

Resident Evil’s Origins Collection

The release of a two disc bundle of remastered classic games was announced in September 2015 this year. Both the latest Resident Evil 0 remastered HD and the Resident Evil remaster will be available in the bundle. The bundle will be available for multiple gaming platforms including PS4, Xbox One and PC. It is set to be released in January 19, 2016.

The reception to the disc set has been generally positive. Gamers feel that by sticking with the old story line and improving graphics and visuals, gamers are reminded that a straightforward storyline with great game play is more than enough to keep players enthralled. No convoluted storylines needed. The HD remastering of both games has made the background graphics and environment objects even more vivid. Abandoned trains and vehicles and dead bodies splayed out everywhere are getting new life and seem more believable than ever. This makes playing the video game a lot creepier than it used to be and that’s saying a lot.

Come January 19th, fans are going to be in for a treat.

The Witness

Created by Jonathan Blow, of Braid fame, The Witness is a 3D puzzle video game that has players exploring an open world island filled with puzzles and mazes. Developed by Thekla, Inc., players progress through the game by solving puzzles based on interactions in mazes throughout the island.

Blow’s team started development on The Witness in 2009 but will only release it next year. This game has had a long development period. This is an incredibly mental game just as the designer intended it to be. There are very few instructions because the designer, Jonathan Blow, wanted players to come to their own conclusions while playing the game and connecting the pieces of the puzzle themselves.
