OMB Peezy – Soulja Life Mentality (Video)
The Alabama native OMB Peezy deals with America’s Criminal Justice System in his new official music video for Soulja Life Mentality.
With a tumbling flow and a commitment to the street life, 20-year-old OMB Peezy is wise beyond his years. Laying out his life’s motto in a drawly new single, Peezy discusses the difficulties of being a young black man in America in “Soulja Life Mentality.” Railing against the police and fiercely asserting his individuality and independence within an oppressive system, Peezy stresses the importance of living his life by a strict code: “They throw me down in handcuffs/Cause I won’t pull my pants up/Them crackers hate my people, but for what reason?/We don’t know why.” In the video, featuring a cameo appearance from Nef The Pharaoh, Peezy details the tedious process of the criminal justice system, illustrating the systemic difficulties for African Americans.
