New Austin, TX Drive-In Theatre, Doc’s Drive-In Theatre, to Open Gates February 2018

Doc’s Drive-In Theatre, an Austin, TX (Buda) drive-in movie theater currently under construction, announced today that it plans to open the business to the public starting in February 2018. The theater is expected to provide entertainment options beyond film; compact, themed tiny homes will provide accommodations for overnight stays, Doc’s Diner will provide snacks and meals, and recreational areas will provide diversions for guests.

“Drive-in theaters now offer only one thing: movies. With Doc’s Drive-In Theatre, we want to create an immersive film experience for individuals and families. Guests can come for a movie but stay overnight, and we will provide the amenities expected from comfortable accommodations,” stated Chris Denny, co-owner of Doc’s Drive-In Theatre.

Chris and his team are currently working their available land to provide a full range of services. In addition to a movie screen and projector, the area is expected to house compact, themed homes, a beach with a swimming pond, space for concessions, a themed movie village, and a bar. Construction is nearing completion alongside online assets.

Co-owner Sarah Denny said, “We’re currently looking to expand the possibilities of moviegoing. No one has done what we’re doing before, and we think that the vibrant music and film culture of Austin is just the place to find success doing something that’s out of the ordinary. This is our dream, and we want to share it with people who love movies as much as we do.”
