Legendary Street Artist Banky’s Infamous Haight Street Rat From Netflix Documentary “Saving Banksy” Crosses The Border Into Canada on November 14th-16th

Banksy’s infamous Haight Street Rat

In Celebration of Canada’s 150th Birthday Year, Campus Crawl Tours, Wolfhead Distillery, and Marcel Parent (Remax Preferred Sales Representative) proudly announces that renowned British graffiti artist Banksy’s now infamous Haight Street Rat painting is headed to Canada for the very first time this fall. The Saving Banksy Canada Experience will be taking place in Windsor, Ontario, Canada from November 14-16th, 2017. The painting will be shown at WOLFHEAD DISTILLERY and offers fans an immersive 360 degree /one-of-a-kind experience that will combine all elements of graffiti culture and also feature live art battles, celebrity DJ’s, charity fundraisers and more. Tickets for the show available at http://www.CampusCrawlTours.com

The painting is the focus of the critically acclaimed documentary “Saving Banksy” available on Netflix, which follows art collector Brian Grief as he attempts to save a street painting by infamous British Street Artist Banksy from destruction and the auction block. It asks the question, ‘What would you do if you woke up one morning and found a million dollar Banksy spray-painted on the side of your building. During the course of filming the subject of the documentary received offers from private collectors as high as $700,000. Since production on the movie was completed offers for the now famous Haight Street Rat have exceeded $1.7 million, yet Greif refuses to sell saying “Profiting from art that was meant for the public is wrong”.

“Saving Banksy” continues to win over critics and fans alike with sold-out theatrical showings around the country. The film is one of the most critically acclaimed documentaries of the year with Rotten Tomatoes rating the film 100% Certified Fresh. “Saving Banksy” is among the year’s top 20 independent movies and a New York Times Top Critic’s pick.

The Los Angeles Times praised the film saying, “The road to hell, is paved with the best of intentions, and that is very much the case with the complex art world conundrum explored in the lively, involving documentary.”

The tagline for the film reads “It’s not art unless you can sell it for lots of Money” and the movie is meant to be thought-provoking and controversial. MoviePilot.com describes Saving Banksy as “The Anti-Capitalist Battle Cry The Art World Needs.”

Saving Banksy was directed by Colin M. Day with narration by Paul Polycarpou, and features interviews with top street and graffiti artists from across the globe, including Ben Eine, Risk, Revok, Niels ‘Shoe’ Meulman, Blek Le Rat, Anthony Lister, Doze Green, Hera and Glen E Friedman.
