About Dope Lil’ Dee: We all experience a moment when we know exactly what we’re supposed to do in life. For Inkster raised artist, Darryl Speights, stage named DopeLilDee, that moment happened in 2007 at a house party. Dope Lil’ Dee started rapping with a friend and, before he knew it, the music was cut off and everyone at the party stopped to listen to what he had to say. After that moment, the rap group Fresh-N-Fly was formed. Dope Lil’ Dee always enjoyed rapping. His passion for music, and being someone his two daughters can be proud of, is what continues to drive him to pursue it today. Having grown up in the foster care system, living on his own at the age of 16, and overcoming troubles with the law, music became a life boat for Dope Lil’ Dee. His goal is to tell his story.
