Dana White says Rousey v Carano deal is “complicated”
With the hopes of setting up a fight between women’s MMA superstar Ronda Rousey and women’s MMA pioneer Gina Carano, UFC president Dana White has said the deal to sign Carano is still under negotiation. Defining the deal with one word, “Complicated”. Though many believe an immediate title shot for Carano, after a five year break from competing, is more about the money than it is about putting on a good fight. No one can deny that it will probably be the biggest women’s MMA fight in history.
But in waiting to see what will happen, good news in another form has come to the UFC/MMA world. Legendary superstar and the long awaited return of Anderson “The Spider” Silva, who has been cleared to compete, has a set date to fight. He’s to face Nick Diaz, who has also had some time away from the octagon and recently signed a 3 fight deal with the UFC, at UFC 183 on Jan. 31 in Las Vegas. The Super Bowl weekend event has always been one of the biggest cards of the year. The “Super Fight” will be the headlining main event and is to be 5 rounds, the bout will likely be contested at middleweight. Stay tuned for more up to date info!
