Michelle Mitchenor Attends the First Annual American Black Film Festival Awards (2016).

“I’m excited to be a part of impactful art that displays the similarities between racial injustice in the 90’s and where it is now,” said Mitchenor.

Michelle Mitchenor will join A+E Network’s hip-hop crime drama pilot, “The Infamous” as a series regular and will play Eva Adams, a young female artist who receives a record deal and has a chance to become a star.

Mitchenor joins Emily Rios (Breaking Bad), Bokeem Woodbine (Fargo) and Vanessa Bell Calloway (Shameless) in the pilot, which is produced by Nina Jacobson (The Hunger Games) and Brad Simpson, and directed by Anthony Hemingway (American Crime Story: The People vs OJ Simpson).

“The Infamous” considered to be the world’s first television gangster noir, revolves around two complicated men: an ambitious reformed gangster-turned-record producer looking to break out of South Central (Woodbine) and the LAPD detective determined to take him down. The show explores the 1992 Los Angeles Riots and the cultural warfare that took place in the music business, within the LAPD, and throughout the streets of Los Angeles.

“I’m excited to be a part of impactful art that displays the similarities between racial injustice in the 90’s and where it is now,” said Mitchenor.

Mitchenor who played Indigo, the girlfriend of Cyclops (Wesley Snipes) in Spike Lee’s controversial film Chi-Raq, also lent her voice for another Spike Lee “joint,” as Cee-Cee, the sister of “my player” in the first motion capture video game feature film, NBA 2K16’s Livin Da Dream. The New Jersey native recently presented the Film of the Year nominee at the first annual 2016 American Black Film Festival Awards which aired February 23, 2016 on the BET Network.
