5 Chicago Hip Hop Blogs You Should Check Out

Yessir. We’re back with another list of Hip Hop blog sites and this time we focus on Chicago Hip Hop. A lot of people try to cover the Windy City but it’s not easy. With a mixture of talent and styles, from the OGs like Common, Twista or Do or Die,  or game changers like Lupe Fiasco, Kanye West, Vic Mensa and Chance The Rapper; and let’s not forget the drill music that Chief Keef put on the map. It can get difficult to cover it all if you’re a Chicago music blog.

But we’ve put together five that are doing it the right way. So if you want to keep up with the Chicago Hip Hop scene check out a list of these blogs the best Chicago music bloggers.

One of the most prominent of all the Chicago Hip Hop blogs is Fake Shoe Drive, run by Andrew Barber. Seeing a void in the Chicago Hip Hop scene, this website started in 2007 and has become a go to stop not just for Chicago but for the Midwest as a whole. If you want to submit your music to them, use this link here.

Another site hailing from Chicago is KollegeKidd.com. Focused on the Chicago Hip Hop scene and Chicago life as a whole, look here for new music as well as scenes from the underground that don’t make the news. Like this video of 3 guys getting shot while listening to Lil Bibby. They aim to show you all aspects and boast a fairly large Social Media following. Check out this Chicago Hip Hop blog for more info.

ChiCityHipHop.net has their finger on the pulse of Chicago Hip Hop. They also show love to clothing brands in the area which most sites don’t even pay attention to. They cover all kinds of Chi City rappers from Lil Durk to Vic Mensa and they’re updated daily. Check them out.

ChicagoBangerz.com is apart of a large network exposing underground talent to the masses. Their mission is to empower local artists and events while still covering mainstream news and bringing America closer to the underground. They won’t have a problem with their nationwide network.

4thShore.com is another site that covers more than just the Chicago Hip Hop scene. They also cover Washington D.C., Minnesota and Denver. 4th Shore breaks their site down by artists. And they have much of the artists we’re all looking for like Chance The Rapper, Mick Jenkins, Donnie Trumpet, Joey Purp and lots more Chicago underground rappers.
